"Can we be sure that alien forces were dropped into the building?" Dave Belov and Tatyana Akira sat at the front of the transport and studied the layout of a small flyer factory owned by MarSec.

"They must have, and…" Tatyana was worried in case this was a false alarm "we cant leave the possibility open" she knew how MarSec would react if twelve armed troopers just turned up at one of their buildings without a good reason, however the potential if MarSec fell under alien control…

The pilot spoke up "30 seconds until landing".

The squad walked in silence down a corridor from the parking garage; their weapons were stowed in their backpacks and every trooper was decked out in police armour.

"Do we use the possible terrorist forces story or do you have a trick up your sleeve" Belov, like Tatyana, did not like the cover-up mentality of their funding body, but he followed his orders to the letter.

"Yes, we will use the possible terrorist forces story, and in this case we is you" Tatyana could not help smiling at Belov’s reaction.

"What!"

"The under manager of this plant is a ‘droid, take Jones and Crossett and borrow the security cameras".  At a fork on the corridor Tatyana led most of the squad left and  Belov took the last couple right towards the control room.

Yoko Sato stood behind the two console operators and smiled, he had no choice in the matter, he was an android and his chrome face was permanently drawn up into a slight smile, however now was not a smiling situation.

"Where is she now?"  A technician had just stopped doing her job and was walking around without a care in the world, she had refused several direct orders and now the security forces where out looking for her.  The technician walked down into a long corridor in the storage section, at the other end of the corridor two security guards saw her and started walking towards her.

"Miss, we would like to have a word with you" the technician continued to walk down the corridor, her face devoid of expression.  When the security guards got to with in a few metres of the technician one of them pulled out  a stungrapple and stunned her, she dropped to the ground with a thump.

"This is not what I joined for" said the first guard as he picked up the stunned woman, the other guard heard a muffled noise from the door next to them.

"What do you think that noise was?" he pushed the door open and came face to face with something six feet tall and blue, it raised it’s gun and the guard froze with fear.

In the control room Belov walked through a door and was about to inform the staff of a possible terrorist attack on the building when the intercom burst out with the sound of a disrupter discharge.

"Help, they have killed Geisler, they are big blue men, butt ugly, they, they have seen me" in the control room nervous glances passed between the staff and the new-comers in there police armour.

The intercom screamed and went silent and the nervous glances turned into stares, all fixed on Belov.

Belov flicked on his intercom to Tatyana "ditch the cover story, we have an infestation".  Looking back at the control room staff he pulls his auto-cannon out and lets it hang buy his side "everybody out, we will handle this".

Yoko Sato, the under manager echoed Belov’s command "Taylor, Mederow get out, I’m staying".  Jones and Crossett took up position by windows with their laser rifles and Belov moved up to the security monitors.  Yoko Sato walked up to the window and also started to look over the area.

"Aliens, am I right?"

"Yes, what tipped you off?"

"It was probably the flying saucer that hovered above the building for 15 seconds" Yoko Sato pulled a plasma pistol out of his jacket, it was a powerful weapon, more powerful than a laser rifle. Belov realised that it probably cost MarSec as much for the gun as for the manager.

Back on the ground Tatyana climbed slowly over a half built hovercar and found herself looking at the top of a spitter’s head, she fired of a burst of rounds from her new machine gun and the spitter crumpled.

"Spitter down, anything to report?" Tatyana continued to hunt around another hovercar as all-clear messages came in from each unit.  Off to one side of the assembly bay there was a wisp of smoke just hanging in the air, no shots had been fired around here, nor had any hit, around the corner the wisp of smoke was a little thicker.

"Luget, cover the main assembly bay, I’ve got to follow a hunch."

Tatyana followed the trail of smoke into a set of offices, the trail of smoke was getting much stronger.  A frightened receptionist ran out of one of the smaller offices and ran towards Tatyana, she pointed the way for the receptionist to go and carried on through the office.

At the other end of the office block a door opened and a very small blue creature came out, it was about 2 feet tall and it had no arms, Tatyana pulled out her mind bender and gave the creature a quick scan, the name  the aliens had given it was "Popper" and its mind was quite heavily shielded against psionic attack.

Down at the other end of the corridor the popper saw Tatyana and charged, it made no sound as it run but quickly started to hyperventilate. Tatyana raised her machine gun and fired off a few shots.  The first shots missed and Tatyana started to worry, sure it had had no obvious weapons, but neither did a brain-sucker.

Tatyana fired again, the creature was only about 10 or 15 metres away and two of the rounds found their marks and the popper collapsed.  Tatyana stood up from her firing position and was very surprised with what happened next.

The Popper’s corpse, violently and without warning, exploded setting a couple of small fires and  breaking a couple of small internal walls.  Tatyana was caught by the edge of the blast and was knocked to the ground.

"Alien update, if its blue and if its less than three feet tall, it is going to explode when you kill it!" Tatyana was back up on to her feet immediately, the rest of the office were clear so she pulled a fire extinguisher off a wall, threw it into the middle of the fire and punctured it with a quick shot, it exploded covering the room and the fires with foam.

Tatyana heard laser fire from the Main assembly bay and set off running.

"Tatyana, this is Belov, we have a couple of anthro’s hiding behind a airtrans, do you want them?"

"Sure, give me a moment."  Tatyana looked through the open door to the assembly bay and found she had a perfect line on the two anthro’s; she pulled a stun gas grenade off her belt and primed it in one motion.

One of the anthro’s made a run for another door and the snipers shot two little holes in its chest.  Bleeding and panicked it staggered back to behind the airtrans.  Tatyana threw her grenade and the two anthro’s found themselves surrounded by stun gas and collapsed; Tatyana could not tell if it was from the gas or simply though shock.

"This is Geisler, hyperworms coming your way"  just as Geisler reported four hyperworms shot out of a door at the end of the bay.  The snipers took out one and Tatyana leapt on to the top of a hovercar but could not seen any of the hyperworms.

The two hyperworms jumped out from underneath a jacked up hovercar and laser fire briefly rained down on to them; the laser fire was followed by an auto-cannon shot which ripped one of the worms into two.  Tatyana cornered the remaining worm and opened some holes in it.

Almost unnoticed at the other side of the bay an Anthropod appeared, it reached into a concealed pocket and brought out a strange organic object that it fiddled with and then threw it towards the troopers.  The Anthropod raised its gun to fire but a plasma shot flew out of the control room window and caught the Anthropod in the eye.

In the control room Belov looked at the manager, he looked back and said "This my factory, it is my responsibility."

On the shop floor all clear reports were coming in from all the troopers.  Tatyana, who was the nearest to the object the Anthropod had thrown, took a step towards the object and got a very bad shock; the device jumped towards her!  The device was now no more than 5 metres from Tatyana, she realised that the thing was a grenade.

Tatyana turned and ran as fast as she could towards the office block; the cross shaped bomb continued to follow her with large bouncing steps.  As she ran to the door of the office block she pulled a standard grenade from her belt and primed it.  The bomb carried on bouncing towards her and towards the door; just as she reached the door she dropped the grenade and dived through.  The doors closed behind her and the alien bouncing bomb stopped, foiled.  The standard grenade then exploded, taking the alien one with it.  Tatyana stepped out of the smoke with her gun slung over her shoulder.  She removed her helmet and smiled.

"This building is clean."  Tatyana looked around at the destruction and smoke around her, "well, of aliens anyway".
