Episode 2:Calm before the Storm
Introduction:
After the battle to save Dallas Texas, the Earth Defenders take a
brake from the duties of defending humanity from the
extraterrestrial threat. With this free time we begin to see the
lives of the Earth Defenders. But as the crew of the Lost Pines
base rests in this calm, the storm gathers for the new threat. It
truly is a calm before the storm...
ACT I:
Narrator:Jake Rowell stirs in bed as he relives the nightmarish
battles of the more covert alienwars of 1999 and 2000. He wakes
up and decides it is time to check up on the social life of the
personal of the Lost Pines base. He walks into the living
quarters of the X-COM base, seeing Kari Hanson arguing with
Tyrell Max.
Max:So, you think you can acctually beat me?Hanson:You are damned
right I do!
Max: Fine bring it on!<Rowell gets in the way...>Rowell:I
don't think so...
<Both in unison> Sir!
Rowell: My personal will not fight on base, do you two
understand?
Hanson: Uh sir...we wern't planing on fighting...sir!
Rowell: Then what were you planing to do?
Hanson: Well sir, we were planing to play Combat Killing
sir!Rowell: Huh?
Max: The PC Fighting Game, Combat Killer, we were going to see
who could beat the other...
Rowell: Oh really? Let me see this Combat Killer...Hanson: Yes
sir...
Narrator: Kari and Max begins to show the commander the new PC
game, meanwhile, Mike Tompson begins to hum on his way down to
the X-COM labs. Entering the lab, he finds it rather
trechorus....
<Dodging wires and peices of alien technology...> Tompson:
Look at this place, it is a mess!
Narrator: Coming to greet Mike is Science Commander Jessica
Tompson, wife of Mike Tompson, and head scientist of the Lost
Pines base. She is covered in greenish extraterrestrial slime,
and holding up a strange dish....
Jessica: Oh you won't belive what we have discovered....
Tompson: I am sure I won't. there is always a surprise when we
start to figure the aliens out...
Jessica laughs
Jessica: True, but this is amazing, the sectoids undetectable
transmitters may soon be detectable. I have been analizing parts
of what may be a reciver, and now with that last UFO you downed
near Dallas, I think I may have found the transmitter.
Tompson: Now the sectiods don't seem all that smart now do they?
What else have you been analizing?
Jessica: Ah, you mean my lab coat, well I wanted to see what was
in thoes tubes. You know it is melted down humans right? Well I
checked the digesitve system of the sectiods and floaters, sure
egnough, they were eating us melted down, that wasn't on a terror
mission, it was a transport to a base to supply food.
Tompson: He he, we'll starve the little buggers...Jessica laughs
agian..
Narrator:Suddenly a distrubed look comes to Mike's face, as he
begins to think that he has discovered something that could be
very dangerous.
Tompson: Jess, where is the base terminal?Jessica: It's over
there... why?
Narrator: Mike Tompson walks over to the terminal and brings up
some arcihived mission data from the last mission, the life in
his face drains as he sees the course trajectory of the ship....
Tompson: My god... we need to tell Jake!End of ACT IACT II:
Narrator:While the calm of the storm affects the Lost Pines base,
it also effects the life of Jenni Evans.
<On the set of Dallas.COM>
Evans: To sum it up, we are not alone, and in the battle against
the unknown enemy, we are not alone as well.... This is Jenni
Evans signing off...
Narrator: Jenni Evans walks off the stage to be confronted with
Producer Phil Tyson, who is at the moment very angry with his
lead reporter.
Tyson: What the hell was that?!Evans:It is true you know....
Tyson:Since when has Dallas.COM became a tabloid news service.
Evans: The extraterrestrial threat is not a tabloid story
anymore, there is a war going on out there, I've seen it...
Tyson: Jenn my dear, what have you been smokin? There is no
extraterrestrial threat, the olny threat out there is the threat
of me firing you if you try to pull a stunt like that agian, do
you understand?!
Evans: But Phill it is real, there is...<cutted off>Tyson:
DO YOU UNDERSTAND?!
Evans: Yes...fine...Narrator: Evans walks away, not saying
another word....
At the Lost Pines base...
Tompson:All right everyone settle down, the reason I brought you
here is becuase we are on the verge of a disaster. The string of
local UFO sighting in the area is not a conicdense of any kind,
in fact it is not a random target.
Max: So are they targeting Dallas? It that new for the aliens?
Tompson: I belive Dallas is the target, but their new stratagey
is the diffrence, and if what I belive is true, then we could
have a new danger. One that we in America have not seen...
Rowell: What is it Mike? What do we need to fear?
Tompson: Jessica, tell them what you found out...
Jessica: Well, you see the aliens were using that warship as a
huge cargo ship, carring melted down humans that they were using
as food, weapons, ammo, and equipment that is relevant to
supplying a base, not a terror mission like we orignally belived.
Rowell: How is this important?
Tompson: As I looked at the trajectory once more, I relized what
is up, let me show you on the main screen. Here is an overlay of
several UFO course in the Southwest district, some before our
founding, as you can see there are several that seem to be
plotted in a general direction for the Dallas area. Now if you
look at the equitment and personal on board the interecpted
ships, I have noticed a pattren, all ships had a core engginering
group on board, which usually signifies Earth based
extraterrestrial construction, in short, as we see this data, I
belive it is safe to say, that the aliens have built a base here
in Texas, and that there target is Dallas. They are going to
declare all out war!
END of ACT IIACT III
Narrator: While events unfold at the Lost Pines base, a shadowy
man works on his PC, and his dark plans begin to be revealed....
The Man:Ah, connected! Has it gone succsefully?
Narrator: On the other end, a deep computerized like voice
Other End:The mission is well under way, despite a loss of
supplies, but I need to speak to you about your reporter...
The Man: Jenni?
Other End: Yes. She seems to know all about the conflict against
X-COM.
The Man: Yes, it seems so... she has a contact with a man who is
a UFO fanatic.
Other End: UFO fanatic?The Man: A long story....
Other End:Very well, I have an order for you, if Jenni Evans
continues to report these incidents, you are to silence her.
The Man: I understand...Other End: Good...disconecting now.
Narrator: As a dark plan begins to form, the personal of the Lost
Pines base debates the findings...
Rowell: So what you are saying is that the aliens are planning an
all out assault on mankind.
Tompson: It seems that way.Max: No way, they wouldn't. It is not
like them!
Hanson: What if they decided to change there stratagey Tyrell.
Jessica: I agree, if you look at it, this is the next step in
their planned invasion. We have been attempting to understand the
alien thinking, and have an idea of what they are going to do.
You see, it all started in 1947.
Hanson: Oh no, another Roswell story...
Rowell: Lt. Kari, please allow the Science Commander to
speak...Hanson: Yes Sir!
Jessica: We have peiced together are idea of what the aliens plan
for the invasion is. In 1947 the aliens sent an advanced scout
ship to earth. If you look at the wreakage, it seems that way.
There was a sectoid pilot and two sectoid science personal. The
aliens then began to launch the abductions, testing us, seeing
are defenses. Turn your attention to the main veiwer. As you can
see, the aliens had a thing for flying near our military bases,
we believe testing them to see what they would do. Of course, we
wouldn't fire, the Cold War was taking place, and that could
signify as an act of war. Who knows, if we fired at the aliens,
perhaps we would not be in this war. Anyways, begining in the
90s, extraterrestrial infiltration begun, and the terror began to
take full swing. Soon, abductions were a normal thing, and
mothers reported weird hybrid exparimentation. In the late 1998
the US military was engaged and destroyed by the aliens, the
inifiltration continued with the alien terror missions, and now
they believe the time is right to launch an all out war...
Narrator: Jake Rowell and the crew of the X-COM: Lost Pines Base
is speechless, meanwhile an a large dark shadow creeps towards
the city of Dallas Texas...

to defend Dallas and Earth from the aliens, and Jenni Evans faces
