X-COM:Earth Defenders

Episode 4: Terror Strikes...

Introduction
Narrator: Last time on X-COM:Earth Defenders, an alien warship threatens all the citizens of Dallas, Texas. Meanwhile, after reporting the terror and being fired, Jenni Evans is confronted by her boss Phill Tyson, a Sectiod Infiltration hybrid. The X-COM forces scramble to intercept the warship, which launches four fighter to begin the terror. The Skyranger Enterprise takes on the warship, crashing both ships into the downtown region of Dallas. Meanwhile the Interceptors frantically try to down the fighters, and in doing so, they have crashed one near the escaping Jenni Evans, who is now in danger from the surviving Sectoids. Terror stirkes Dallas, Texas as we continue the saga of the Lost Pines X-COM forces...
Narrator:The alien warship lies, burning in one of the many tall skyscrapers of Dallas, seemingly devoid of life. A brave soul, Daniel Tyler, dares to come close to the wreakage of the alien spacecraft, he is acompanyed by Lisa Willams, an employee of the building...
Lisa:What is it?Daniel: I don't know for sure, but I think its an alien ship?
Lisa laughs a bit: You sure its not a weather balloon?
Daniel:Lisa, don't you dare crack on me!Lisa:Me, crack and go nuts...nah...
Narrator: They near the wreakage of the ship, still burning, with a strange smell being emitted...
Lisa:Yuck, what is that disgusting smell?Daniel:How would I know?
Lisa:Well...uh...Daniel:Hey look! Something is moving!Lisa:Where?
Daniel:There...right there...
Narrator:Daniel Tyler points to where a Sectoid begins to stand up, wobbeling due to the pain it is in from the crash, it sees the humans, and can not help but look curoiously at them...
Lisa:Uh...Dan...it sees us!
Narrator:Daniel tries to look confident and holds his hand up in greeting...
Daniel:Hello, we come in peace...Lisa:Uh..yes, we welcome you to earth!
Narrator: The Sectoid mimics Daniels hand guesture, turning its head a bit, slightly curious, then picking up its Heavy Plasma cannon, and shoots them, painfully incenerating Daniel Tyler and Lisa Willams...
End of IntroductionACT I
Narrator: The Interceptor rush over head as they try to stop the carnage of the alien attack! The alien fighter occasionally fire at the Interceptors, mainly outrunning them, shooting as many civilan targets as possible but the Interceptors maitain their targets, meanwhile, down on the ground Jenni Evans watches as the Sectoids come out of the ship. A man in a nerby car sees them and gets out of his car and starts to run. One of the Sectoids spots him and fires the plasma riffle, killing the man. Jenni holds her breath, trying to stay down and be quiet...
Evans:Shit... the aliens are everywhere!
Narrator:One of the sectoids hear her, and starts to walk over cutiously, Jenni ducks down and grabs the plasma riffle...
Evans:Great...
Narrator:She opens the door carefully, then rolls out of the car as the Sectoid shoots his plasma riffle, destroying the car...
Evans:Thats the second car you damn aliens have destroyed this week! Die!!
Narrator:Jenni Evans holds up the plasma riffle and blasts the aliens head, which explodes spewing alien blood everywhere. The two other Sectoids are startled, snap shooting at Jenni's location, missing her both time...
Evans: Ah, so you two want my greetings too?
Narrator: Jenni Evans swings the riffle around and fires multiple times at the aliens...
Evans:Have fun guys...
Narrator:She creates multiple plasma explosions killing the sectoids and damaging the ship...
Evans:Damn aliens should leave my car alone...
Narrator:She turns away looking at the smoldering wreakage of her car, smiling and laughing a bit nervously, when she hears a whineing buzzing noise. She turns around to see a floating, humaniod with a cape...
Evans:Oh shit...
Narrator: She runs as the alien shoots a large alien bomb laucher, creating an explosion that sends her flying...
Evans:You know, I have had it with aliens shooting at me...
Narrator: Jenni Evans stands up, and holds up her plasma riffle, firing it, hiting and destroying the round floatation device of the Floater, who falls to the ground. Jenni walks over seeing the alien trying to reach for the Alien Laucher...
Evans: Guess what, its game over man!
Narrator: The alien pulls out a grenade, and starts to laugh a roaring laugh...
Evans: Why does this seem familar?
Narrator: Evans tries to run away as fast as possible, the alien throws the grenade into the air, she turns and shoots the plasma riffle at the alien grenade, it hits the grenade, which explodes with a loud thunder that drowns out the hiddeous laughter of the alien, sending fire down upon Jenni Evans and the Floater....
End of ACT IACT II
Narrator: The Skyranger Enterpries lies in the streets of downtown Dallas, a smoldering wreakage. Fire surrounds the ship, and civilan onlookers can't help but look at the burning ship, when there attention is not stole by the alien spaceship that is smashed into the city skyscraper, and the weapons fire flashing in the building, it looks as if no one could of survived the crash, and the onlookers begin to feel that the crew of the ship was lost, when all of a sudden, some men began to walk out of the ship...
Civilan:Look!
Narrator: Jake Rowell, Mike Tompson, Kari Hanson, Tyrell Max, and a few other soldiers begin to walk out of the Skyranger...
Rowell: So how is everyone?
Max: Four deaths, one severaly wounded, as for the rest, injuries here and there, but at least we are walking...
Rowell groains: True...Hanson:Sir look at that building!
Narrator: Jake, Kari, and Tompson turn to see the building, and the alien warship that has slamed through it. They see the weapons fire...
Tompson:Do you hear that? Sounds like plasma weapons...
Rowell: Agreed, do you see the flashes, that is olny something Elerium powered weapons would produce...
Hanson: Do you hear that? It sounds like conventional weapon fire...
Tompson: Probally the building security...
Rowell: They have no idea what they are dealing with...
Narrator: A civilan walks over to the crash site, amazed at what she is seeing...
Civilan: Who are you guys? The Men in Black?
Rowell: No, there the bad guys... We are the Extraterrestrial Combat Unit...
Narrator: Meanwhile, in the alien infested skyscraper...
Security Officer:We can't hold firepower like that off... call for help!
Civialan: I am trying!Security Officer:Hurry!Civilan: The phone is dead!
Security Officer: What? Shit!Civilan: Ahha...
Narrator: The security officer watches the civilan explode, and then turns around in time to see the bright flash that brings his death in a near instant....
End of ACT IIACT III
Narrator: The X-COM forces quickly prep for there assault and then head out for the alien infested skyscraper, many are limping, some are barrely holding there guns. Jake Rowell walks over to Kari Hanson.
Rowell: So how bout you, are you ok?
Hanson: I think so, but this damn leg hurts like hell...
Rowell: Yeah, my arm is sore...
Hanson: You know sir, that stunt you pulled back there, pretty dam bright, even as dangerous as it was...
Rowell: It was wasn't it...
Narrator: Jake smile and laughs a bit as the first alien bomb slams down exploding next to a soldier...
Rowell: Look out, we're being bombarded...
Narrator: A floater hovers above them with a Launcher in hand...
Rowell: Tompson, take him down...
Narrator: Mike Tompson kneels down, taking out his Rocket Launcher and shooting a rocket at the Floater, it hits, and a burning Floater crashes to the ground...
Rowell: Great shot Mike, now everyone, lets move out!
Narrator: The X-COM forces near the entrance of the skyscraper...
Rowell: Allright people, I don't think I need to remind you too much of the danger that lies in here, the aliens have had the time to get ready, I am sure this building is full of Sectoid and Floater troops, probally soldier bred. We aren't going to find to many medics and wimpy scientists...
Hanson: Sir, may I remind you that there is the possibility of a Floater Commander in this building...
Rowell: I was going to get to that Kari, thank you. As Lt. Hanson said, there is the possibility of a Floater Commander in this building, although I would suspect that he is still in his ship. If spoted, imediatley report it to me, I will handle him! Now, move out...carefully...
Troops:Yes Sir!
Narrator: The X-COM troops move into the skyscraper, carefully, and quietly. They try to observe every point of the structure...
Tompson: You know sir, I don't think this tower can take much more damage...
Rowell: Agreed, by what I make of it, this tower has seen a lot of battle...
Tompson: Inbuilding security, mabye some police...
Rowell: I hope they got out of here...Hanson: Look at this sir...
Narrator: Hanson points at the dead body of a police officer...
Rowell: At least they slowed the aliens down...
Narrator: Suddenly a large walking sound is heard...
Tompson: What the hell is that?!
Narrator: A large beast comes out and begins to charge the X-COM soldiers...
Rowell: Shit! Its one of the chargers... everyone shoot!
Narrator: Everyone fires there weapons at the beast, but it is like it shrughs off the damage, as it charges one of the soldiers, and attacks using its powerfully cyberneticly charge talons and teeth to rip him apart...
Soldier:Ahhaha!Tompson: I am going to kill that thing and send it to hell!
Narrator: Mike Tompson proceeds in pulling out his Rocket Launcher, and aims at the beast...
Rowell: Mike, no! This building is in critical shape as it is, and it is too close...
Tompson: Yes sir!
Narrator: The creature charges Kari Hanson, who stands gaurd with her lazer riffle, trying to stop its charge, but is hit dead on!
Rowell:Kari!
Narrator: Kari is lifted in to the air, by the creature's hand like appendage, its talons tearing into her stomach, she screams in pain, then grabs a grenade and shoves it down the beasts throat... Kicking the creature bettween the eyes, alowing her egnough time to get away as the creature blows apart...
Jake Rowell and Tyrell Max rush over to the bleeding Kari Hanson...
Max: Kari are you ok?Hanson: About as fine as I can be Tyrell...
Rowell: Let me see the wound better, give me some light...Tompson: Yes sir!
Narrator: Jake Rowell inspects the wound, his face begining to drain of life...
Max: Is she going to be allight sir?
Rowell: I don't know, but I know we got to get her out of here...
Hanson: Sir, I don't want to slow down the mission...
Rowell: Saving human life is what we at X-COM are here for.
Hanson: Yes sir, but with this building and the infestation, more human life could be lost if we slow down with my injuries...
Rowell: I don't care, come on, Max you help her, she is comming with us, wether she likes it or not... I am not letting you die from the aliens...
End of ACT IIIACT IV
Narrator: The X-COM forces slowly make their way up the building, caustiouly moving, sometime running into some light Sectoid resistance, meanwhile Kari Hanson's condition worsens, but Jake Rowell and Tyrell Max refuse to let her die....
Tompson: Sir, do you smell that?
Rowell:Yes, I think it is the smell of Elerium...
Tompson: I am sure it is, I've been around it egnough with Jessica and her projects in our quarters, she never leaves her lab, wether it is in our room or at the lab....
Narrator: Kari Hanson laughs, coughing up a bit of blood. Which makes Max look at Kari...
Max:Oh, now that is not a good thing...Hanson: Agreeded...
Max: You sure you are ok?Hanson: No...
Max: What you did back there...wow! You cooked that beast pretty damn good...
Hanson: Thanks..<laughs> Now to beat you at that damn fighter game...
Max: Awwa... that will never happen...Hanson: Next game... I am sure...
Narrator: The X-COM forces near the crash site...
Rowell: Damn, this place is a mess...
Tompson: This thing must have a huge reactor... that Elerium smell is so strong...
Narrator: Suddenly several bolts of plasma strikes out at the X-COM forces, hitting several of the rookies...
Rowell: Everyone drop to the floor!
Narrator: Everyone drops to the floor as fast as possible as an alien grenade hits the ground behind them, killing off more soldiers. Leaving Jake Rowell, Mike Tompson, a wounded Kari Hanson, Max Tyrell, and rookie Rick Johnson...
Johnson: Shit, they got us covered...
Rowell: Everyone take cover and return fire!
Narrator: The surviovors take cover and try to fire at the aliens they find... Suddenly a large blast ruptures from the alien ship, and the whole building begins to shake...
Tompson: Sir, I think it is time to get out of here, now!Max:Why?
Tompson: This building is about to fall apart!
Rowell: Agreed, I think the Elerium reactors have become unstable, another blast like that and this building is going to collapse...
Narrator: Rowell is almost hit by a plasma blast, and then fire his lazer riffle at the Floater...
Rowell:Mike look!
Narrator: In the background a Skyranger is seen, shining its search lights into the building...
Max:Lets get out of here!Johnson:Agreeded!
Narrator: Johnson stands up, a sudden burst of morale hitting him, taking his Auto Cannon, and paving a path through the Sectoids and Floaters...
Rowell: Come on everone! Lets get out of this hell hole!
Narrator: The X-COM forces blast their way out of the building, reaching the edge of the building waving down the skyranger...
Tompson: Its X-COMMAND, they have sent reinforcements!
Narrator: They see the four Interceptor, 2 Lost Pines, 2 X-COMMAND's, hunting down the alien fighters...
Johnson: Hoorah, long live X-COM!
Narrator: The skyranger pulls up beside the building, extending the ramp...
Rowell:Mike, Rick, Tyrell get out of here... I'll get Kari out of her...
Tyrell: But..Rowell: Get out of here now!Tyrell:Yes sir..
Narrator: Mike Tompson, Rick Johnson, and Tyrell Max run for the Skyranger as fast as they can... Meanwhile, Jake Rowell tries to get Kari Hanson to the Skyranger when another Elerium reactor explodes, and the building tremors...
Rowell: This is not good...Hanson: You think Jake?
Rowell: Come on lets get out of here...Hanson: Go without me...
Rowell: We are not getting into that arguement agian, come on...
Narrator: Rowell and Hanson make their way through the falling building, when suddenly there is a bright flash and Kari screams a short scream and falls...
Rowell: Kari!Kari:Uhha...
Narrator: Rowell turns around to see a Floater, dressed in a weird unfiorm unlike most Floaters holding a Plasma Rifle, still somking from the last charge....
Rowell:So, you are the commander, aren't you...
Narrator: The Floater Commander floats down to the same level as Rowell and comes to about five feet away from Rowell, staring at him his plasma rifle pointing away...
Rowell: So, you are the intellegance behind these attacks?
Narrator: The Floater Commander nods...Rowell: Damn bastard...
Narrator: The Floater Commander brings up his Plasma Rifle pointing it driectly at Jake Rowell, then drops it in pain, falling to the ground with a plasma wound in its back. Jake looks down at the wound and the uncouncious Floater Commander...
Rowell:What the hell?
Narrator: Jake is amazed to look up and see a burnt, torn up, bleeding Jenni Evans holding a plasma rifle
Evans: Hello Commander Rowell, nice to see you agian...
Rowell: I won't even ask, come on lets get out of here...
Narrator: Jake Rowell looks at Kari Hanson one more time as another Elerium Reactor explodes and the building begins to collapse...
Evans: The floor is giving way...Rowell: Run....
Narrator:They run as fast as they can as the floor begins to buckle and collapse, the large alien warship falling down, and the floor begins to fall out from their feet as they near the edge...
Rowell:Jump!Evans:What?Rowell:Jump I said!
Narrator: The two jump off the edge towards the X-COMMAND Skyranger as the building begins to collapse like it is imploding...
End of ACT IVACT V
Narrator: The Skyranger circle the city as they survey the damage. Dallas is but a smoldering wreak of damaged buildings, and collapse highways. Repair crews begin to deploy to work on the city, as rescue crew get in to try to rescue survivors. Jake Rowell, Mike Tompson, Tyrell Max, Jenni Evans and Rick Johnson look out at the devestation....
Tompson: So this is the full power of the aliens...
Johnson: I has heard of the threat, but I never knew it would be this powerful...
Max:They kill the ones we care about... the ones we love... they are ruthless killers...
Evans: They are going to destroy us aren't they?
Rowell:This is a war we are lossing....
Tompson:Listen to us, here we are wining that we are lossing, that we are weak! That's what they want us to do! That's the point for thoese alien terror missions! To make us fear them...
Evans:They are doing a damn good job!

Rowell: Mike, you know you are right, it would be easy to give up, but in the end we would come to the same fate, we would die! We must fight back! We must prevail!
Evans: So this is the evil of X-COM? Fighting an evil alien force...
Tompson:Evil? X-COM??
Evans: Something that damned fool Willam Miller was told me, he said
X-COM was trying to stop friendly communications with the aliens... what a fool, I guess communication doesn't get much friendliar then that...
Narrator: The battle ends in a light laughter as the X-COM personal head home, each dealing with the outcome of this battle in their own ways. To some this is a glourius victory, to others a painful failure... but to all, it is the sign that humanity will not give up in the battle agianst the aliens!
End of Episode 4
Narrator: Next time on X-COM:Earth Defenders, X-COM is under fire as the world tries to deal with the aftermath of the Dallas terror. The Lost Pines base must also deal with the aftermath, and world tension bettween the world superpowers mounts as the Aftermath of Terror occurs next time on X-COM:Earth Defenders...
