Walking at full speed, sweeping the area for sensors, Abw ran his Battle-Master 22-c up a small slope. He had just taken out some weird lokking Mech his computer had dubbed a Marauder 11-d, some strange missle boat of a Mech that 2 LRM 20's, 2 Streak SRM 4's, 3 ER PPC's, and 2 medium pulse lasers. He had finished it off quickly with his u/AC 5's and medium pulse lasers, and thought nothing of it. He was almost back to the base on Alshain, when multiple signatures appeared on his radar. "Damn, a trap!"
he yelled over his comlink to his star mates. "OK, Ross
you take out that Cataphract coming over the hill, Cody, you get the Javelin, Brownie take the Vindicator, and I will take that new Marauder thing." Cody fired his throttle and ran his Timber Wolf over the hill. The Javelin had no chance as Cody fired off his LRM's. Just as Abw was about to fire on the slowly trudging Mech, the snow errupted in front of him. An I.S. Sentinal was right in front of him. He brought down his small pulse laser on it an severed the left arm above the shoulder. he could have brought his medium pulse lasers on it but he did not want to raise heat because he would soon be taking on that Marauder. So he put both of the pistols his Mech was carrying in there holdsters, a silly little metal loop on each leg of his Mech, and picked the left arm of the Sentinal by the slender barrel and proceeded to beat the hell out of the Sentinal's cockpit. When he was satisfied that the pilot was dead, he returned to the Marauder. He heard that an enemy had been destroyed and saw Ross's Marauder 11-c, barely damaged standing over the Cataphracts remains. "One down, now what do I do?" he said. "Head back for the base,I can take this missle-man." Abw responded. With that, Ross headded back just as Brownie finished off the Vindicator. " I am headed back." he said as he throttled his Timber Wolf back to base. Abw saw that his heat was running hot, so he brought the crosshairs of his u/AC 5's on the Marauder's cockpit. As he was just about to fire his rounds into the pilot, the coward ejected. "You have not won this one, Abw, I will return!" He watched as the ejection pod raced toward the sky as he smelled the pilot of the Sentinal burning in his cockpit. "I guess the smell of burning fles remains the same." he said as he returned to the safety of the base.....for now at least.
As Abw sat in front of his T.V. whatching the Solaris VII
games, waiting for his Battle-Master 22-c to be repaired, an alarm sounded. "All units in the Invincible Star report to the MechBay immediately, Base is under attack!" "Great, just what I need, a bunch of Mercs and my arch nemisis trying to destroy the base...again." He ran down the hall, shoving Techs out of his way, when he came to the MechBay. There, standing in the bay were BattleMechs, huge 11 to 19 meter tall machines of death. He easily spotted his, standing a meter taller than all others, the Battle-Master 22-c, a work of his own design, with enough Ferro Fibrous armor to take a good beating and enough weapons to give one back. Ah yes, there it was, in all its glory...still getting repaired. "Can you people go any slower?" he yelled at his Techs. They began to hurry their job, but it would not be finished in time. So he went over to a small door where his captured Mechs were kept. Inside were a Kit FoxII,
a Commando, a Centurion, a Firemoth, and an I.S. Jenner. The Kit FoxII was another of his creations with MASC, jump jets, 2 medium pulse lasers, a small pulse laser, a u/AC5 with 4 tons of ammo, and 2 LRM 10's. Plus, unlike the original Kit Fox, this one had the ability to torso twist. It weighed in at 45 tons. The Comando was an I.S. Mech, very hevily armored for its 25 ton mass. It had as much armor as a Clan Jenner 11-c, and with his variant, 4 ER medium lasers, an LRM 5, and, its real Jenner stopper, an AMS, so the primary Jenner 11-c variant had no effect. The Centurion was refitted with Clan weapons still in its primary config, only with a medium pulse laser added. The same went for the I.S. Jenner, only it exchanged its SRM 4 pack for a longer range, lock-on LRM 5. And finally, the Firemoth was in its primary config. He knew that these Mechs, with the right warriors, could take out several stars of even Medium Mechs, but these mercenaries would probably have heavy and even assault Mechs, so what bothered Abw the most was, why are they sending him on a suicide mission?
So Abw shrugged off the worry and climbed into his Kit Fox II. Ross got into the Centurion, Cody was in the Commando, and Brownie went in the Jenner. They were just barely a hundred meters out of the base when his Mech was rocked violently by a Gauss slug. The 125 kilo Nickle Iron slug dug deep into his his left torso, sheering of at least a ton of armor, but did not do any internal damage. He shrugged it off and went foreward and found his prey, an I.S. Holander II stood there with his Gauss rifle reloding. Abw put the crosshairs of his dual LRM 10's on the Holander and waited for a lock. As soon as he heard the lock, he unleashed a dual salvo of LRM's. He watched the missles streak toward their target and strike just to the left of the enemy Mechs head. He watched the Gauss Rifle's energy stores erupt in a brilliant blue flame, blowing the head right off the Mech. Then, multiple signatures came up all over the radar, Mechs and Vehicles everywhere! He counted 13 Savannah Masters, 2 Bulldog Heavy Tanks, 3 Marauder 11-d's, and 4 Pegasus Light Scout Tanks. The Savannah Masters were no trouble, they only had a small ER laser, the Pegasus had an SRM 6, and the Bulldogs had an AC/20. The Marauder 11-d was a missle boat, with 2 LRM 20's, 2 Streak SRM 4's, 3 ER PPC's, and 2 medium pulse lasers. He told Ross to take one Marauder, Brownie and Cody to take another, and he would take his own. He hit it with his LRM's, Then opened up with his autocannon 5. The Marauder's armor evaporated under the uranium shells, then he hit the fusin engine, and the Mech exploded. He turned to see Ross not only shooting his weapons into the Mech, but also pounding it with his fists. Cody and Brownie finished theirs off quickly, then they all began on the vehicles. When a Savannah Master stopped moving, something they rarely do, he used his pulse lasers to dig a trench around it. He watched as it fell through the ice and into the water. All of his men quickly desimated the the Bulldogs and Pegasuses, and then it took a while to finish the Savannah Masters, but they did it. As they went home, tired and injured, they wondered what prize awaited them.
